Alerts, set against Individual Numbers, can be viewed, added, edited, and deleted under the Alerts section.

In this section a user can set up Alerts on phone numbers and accounts (Overall Limits).  It can be used to detect whether certain limits have been exceeded.

Alert limits can be set for to voice, data, and text limits.

Alerts can be setup as Daily and Monthly frequency and a user can setup as many different Alerts as they want for each frequency.

Limits for Billing IDs can be set individually (Per Number Limits) or in bulk (Per Number Defaults).

Note: Only users with a Restriction Type of Unrestricted and Enable Customer Alerts selected, within their Customer Portal Login profile, will have access to the Alerts Menu.

 

The main portion of the page will display as list of all existing Alert Names, including the associated Notification Email Subject, Recipient Email Address, and Data Usage Alert flag.

It is possible to sort the columns by clicking on the column heading.

If there are no existing Alerts, then the text No Alerts have been created.  Click ‘New Alert’ to create one will be displayed below the column headings.

Alert Details Fields

Field Details
Alert Name* This is the name of the Alert.  This can be used to clarify its purpose.
Notification Email Subject* This is the Title of the Alert Email Notification.  This can be used to clarify its purpose.
Recipient Email Address* This is the Email Address which should receive the Alert Email Notifications.
Data Usage Alert

This indicates whether an Alert is a Non Data Alert or a Data Usage Alert.

Non Data Alert Options - Unticked

The following options will be enabled, allowing limits to be specified, within the Alert:

  • All Usage Cost Limit (£)
  • Voice Cost Limit (£)
  • Voice Duration Limit (Mins)
  • Data Cost Limit (£)
  • Data Use Limit (MB)
  • Text Cost Limit (£)

 

Data Usage Alert - Ticked

The following options will be enabled, allowing limits to be specified, within the Alert:

  • Data MB (UK)
  • Data MB (EU)
  • Data MB (RoW)
  • Broadband MB

Creating a New Alert

Selecting the New Alert button will present the user with the New Alert modal. 

This allows the user to create an Alert Name including the associated Email Notification Subject, Recipient Email Address and select the Data Usage Alert, when required.

Click the Save New Alert button to create the Alert Name.

View / Edit Alert Details

Existing Alerts can be updated by selecting the Edit Alert icon, displayed alongside the applicable entry.

This will present the user with the Alert Details and Limits page. 

Click the Edit icon button within the corresponding area to add or edit the information within that section.

Remove Alerts

Existing Alerts can be removed by selecting the Delete icon, displayed alongside the applicable entry.

Select Yes to delete the selected entry.

Manage Limits

Limits can be viewed and set by selecting the Edit Alert icon against an existing Alert Name entry.

There are three areas where Alert limits can be entered.  These are Overall Limits [Section 1], Per Number Defaults [Section 2], and Per Number Limits [Section 3]. 

Overall Limits

The Overall Limits section is for all usage against an account. 

Monthly or Daily Limits can be set here and if breached, an alert will be sent to the email address specified in the Alert Details.

To set the Limits, select the Edit button and enter the required Limits in the available boxes. 

Per Number Defaults

Per Number Defaults will be applied to all numbers and can be overridden by setting a Per Number Limit. 

When these are breached, an Alert will be sent to the email specified in the Alert Details. 

To set the Limits, select the Edit button and enter the required Limits in the available boxes.

Per Number Limits

This section allows the user to set limits for an individual Billing ID, which will override the Per Number Defaults entered.

Per Number Limits will be shown in bold.

Per Number Defaults will be in a lighter colour.

The Monthly Limits and Daily Limits toggle buttons allow the user to switch between displaying the monthly and daily limits entered.

Select the Edit icon, displayed alongside the applicable Number’s row, to set the individual Limit for that number.

To remove an existing Per Number Limit, simply click select the Edit icon alongside the applicable entry and select the x icon, displayed alongside the limit. 

This will remove the Per Number Limit and restore to the Per Number Default limit.

Limit Options

The Limits that can be set, within each section of an Alert, are determined by selecting or deselecting the Data Usage Alert checkbox within the Alert Details section.

Limit Options available when Data Usage Alert is NOT ticked (No), are defined below.

Note: If an invalid value is entered on saving, an error message will be displayed: Value entered is invalid.

Limit Options - Data Usage Alert (No)

Field Details
All Usage Cost (£) £ values, should be entered with two decimal places.
Voice Cost (£) £ values, should be entered with two decimal places.
Voice Duration (Mins) Mins values should be entered as a numeric value without a decimal point.
Data Cost (£) £ values, should be entered with two decimal places.
Data Usage (MB) MB values should be entered as a numeric value without a decimal point.
Text Cost (£) £ values, should be entered with two decimal places.

Per Number Limits Options – Data Usage Alert (No)

Field Details
Number This is the Billing ID listed within the Alert.
User Name This is the User Name associated with the Billing ID.
All Usage Cost (£) £ values, should be entered with two decimal places.
Voice Cost (£) £ values, should be entered with two decimal places.
Voice Duration (Mins) Mins values should be entered as a numeric value without a decimal point.
Data Cost (£) £ values, should be entered with two decimal places.
Data Usage (MB) MB values should be entered as a numeric value without a decimal point.
Text Cost (£) £ values, should be entered with two decimal places.
